FURIA has officially moved its entire women's Counter-Strike 2 roster to VALORANT, marking one of the biggest cross-title transitions in women's esports this year.
The organization announced the decision on social media, explaining that the move comes after the collapse of the competitive women's CS2 ecosystem following the shutdown of ESL Impact earlier in 2026.
Instead of rebuilding around Counter-Strike, FURIA has chosen to fully commit to Riot Games' ecosystem, where the roster is expected to compete in the VALORANT Game Changers circuit. Riot continues to invest heavily in Game Changers through regional leagues and the annual world championship, making it the largest dedicated competition for women in esports.
A Championship-Winning Core
The lineup enjoyed considerable success during its time in Counter-Strike.
In May 2025, the team won ESL Impact League Season 7 Finals, taking home $50,000 in prize money. Throughout its time under the FURIA banner, the roster earned more than $150,000 in tournament winnings while establishing itself as one of the strongest women's teams in the world.
The roster moving to VALORANT consists of:
Karina "kaah" Takahashi
Gabriela "gabs" Freindorfer
Bruna "bizinha" Marvila
Isabella "izaa" Galle
Lucia "lulitenz" Dubra
Why VALORANT?
The move reflects a broader shift happening across women's esports.
With ESL Impact no longer operating, several established Counter-Strike players have begun exploring opportunities in VALORANT, where Riot's Game Changers program offers a structured competitive ecosystem, regular international events, and long-term developer support.
According to community reports, FURIA's roster has already been practicing VALORANT for several months behind the scenes and even worked alongside players from the mixed scene to speed up the transition before making the switch official.
Rather than entering competition immediately, the team is expected to spend the remainder of 2026 preparing for the 2027 Game Changers season.
For FURIA, the decision closes a successful chapter in Counter-Strike while opening a completely new one in VALORANT.
