The International 2026 is still underway, but the Dota 2 community has already started looking beyond Shanghai.аа
With TI15 approaching its decisive stage, discussions about the next Dota 2 roster shuffle are beginning to dominate the scene. Several established teams could make changes after the tournament, while a number of veteran players are reportedly considering their futures.
Nothing has been officially confirmed for most of the rumored moves. However, a combination of player comments, organizational decisions and growing community speculation suggests that the post-TI15 shuffle could be one of the most active in recent seasons.
Here is what we know so far — and, just as importantly, what remains speculation.
Why the post-TI15 shuffle could be huge
Roster changes after The International are nothing new in Dota 2.
The tournament traditionally marks the end of one competitive cycle and the beginning of another. Contracts expire, players reassess their careers and organizations decide whether their current lineups are capable of competing for the next Aegis.
The previous post-TI shuffle already produced major changes across the scene. The 2025–2026 season saw organizations rebuild around established stars, while several veteran players moved between regions and teams.
This year, the situation could be even more dramatic.
There are already discussions surrounding Team Falcons, Team Spirit, Team Liquid, Nigma Galaxy, Xtreme Gaming, LGD Gaming, Aurora Gaming, Team Yandex, BetBoom Team and OG, among others. However, these teams should not all be considered equally likely to make changes.
Some rumors are based on actual player statements. Others are simply fan predictions.
Team Falcons: the biggest potential bombshell?
Team Falcons are naturally at the center of the speculation.
The organization has one of the most experienced rosters in professional Dota, but the team's future has become a frequent topic of discussion as TI15 approaches its conclusion.
Community discussions have specifically mentioned possible changes involving Cr1t- and Sneyking, with some fans even predicting a broader rebuild. At the same time, there is also a strong counterargument that Falcons could keep the core of Malr1ne and ATF together and build around their younger stars.

That distinction is important.
There is currently no official announcement that Falcons will disband or release specific players. The idea of a complete rebuild remains speculation.
However, if Falcons do decide to make changes, they could have an enormous impact on the rest of the European transfer market.
A player of Malr1ne's caliber becoming available, for example, would immediately attract attention from almost every major Western European organization.
Rumor status: Speculation
There are strong community discussions about potential changes, but no reliable confirmation of a Falcons breakup has emerged.
Team Spirit and the Collapse question
Team Spirit are another organization surrounded by post-TI speculation.
The Russian powerhouse entered TI15 with a roster featuring Yatoro, Larl, Collapse, not me and rue, and remains one of the most recognizable teams in the tournament.
The most persistent discussion concerns the future of Collapse.

Some community members have speculated that the legendary offlaner could consider taking a break or even stepping away from professional Dota. Those discussions have appeared repeatedly among fans, particularly because of the enormous workload associated with playing at the highest level year after year.
However, there is currently no official statement from Collapse announcing retirement.
In fact, his recent competitive history shows that he remains an active member of Team Spirit and competed throughout the 2026 season, including the team's TI qualification run.
So for now, retirement should be treated as a rumor rather than a developing transfer story.
Rumor status: Low confidence
Collapse retirement or a break is being discussed by the community, but there is no solid confirmation.
Team Liquid: could Nisha take a break?
Team Liquid's situation is particularly interesting because the organization has already gone through a major leadership change in the previous season.
Insania retired from professional Dota 2 in 2025, with Liquid replacing him with the former Gaimin Gladiators duo of Ace and tOfu. The organization subsequently continued competing with m1CKe, Nisha, Ace, Boxi and tOfu.
Now, some community speculation is focused on Nisha.

There have been discussions suggesting that the Polish star could potentially take a break after TI15. Some fans have also speculated that Team Liquid could consider bringing in a player such as Malr1ne if the latter becomes available.
At present, however, there is no reliable confirmation that Nisha plans to retire or leave Liquid.
This is one of the clearest examples of why post-TI rumor coverage needs to distinguish between a possible move and an actual report.
Rumor status: Speculation
Nisha's future is being discussed, but no confirmed departure has been announced.
SumaiL and the retirement rumors
One of the most credible retirement conversations concerns SumaiL.

The Nigma Galaxy star has openly discussed the possibility of stepping away from professional Dota. In a podcast appearance in July, SumaiL reportedly explained that one of the main things making him consider retirement is the requirement to constantly play public matchmaking games.
He also indicated that he could potentially continue competing if he did not have to spend the same amount of time playing pubs.
That makes his situation different from many of the other rumors.
There is still no official retirement announcement, but the player himself has publicly discussed the subject.
SumaiL's future could therefore become one of the biggest stories of the post-TI15 shuffle.
If he does retire, Nigma would suddenly need to replace one of the most experienced players in the history of professional Dota.
Rumor status: Medium confidence
SumaiL has openly discussed retirement, but there is no confirmed decision to leave professional Dota after TI15.
Nigma Galaxy could be forced to rebuild
Nigma's potential changes are closely connected to SumaiL's situation.
The organization made significant changes earlier in 2026, bringing back SumaiL and adding lorenof after parting ways with previous members. The move was already considered a major mid-season gamble because the team had limited time to build chemistry before the most important tournaments.
If SumaiL retires, Nigma would once again have to search for a new core player.
That could open the door for a younger carry or even a veteran looking for another opportunity.
Community discussions have also mentioned the possibility of ATF moving to Nigma, although this is currently nothing more than speculation.
Rumor status: Medium-low confidence
A Nigma change becomes much more plausible if SumaiL retires, but specific replacements are currently speculative.
Xtreme Gaming: China's biggest mystery
The most complicated situation may be in China.
Xtreme Gaming entered 2026 with an extremely experienced lineup built around Ame, NothingToSay, Xxs, fy and xNova. The roster combined several of the region's biggest names and was expected to challenge for major titles.
Instead, XG struggled during the latter part of the season and failed to reach the TI15 playoffs.
That has triggered a wave of speculation about the future of the roster.
A widely circulated community post claims that Ame and Xxs were unhappy with the team's direction, while another rumor suggests that some Chinese teams may no longer be interested in playing with NothingToSay.

These claims originate from Chinese community discussions and have not been independently verified. They should therefore be treated strictly as rumors rather than established information.
The timing nevertheless makes XG one of the teams worth watching.
Ame remains one of China's biggest stars, and the organization will have to decide whether its current five can realistically challenge for the Aegis next season.
Rumor status: Unverified
There is significant community speculation surrounding XG, but no confirmed player departures have been announced.
Could Ame leave Xtreme Gaming?
Ame is inevitably going to be one of the biggest names in the post-TI transfer market if Xtreme decides to make changes.
The Chinese carry remains one of the most successful players in Dota history and has already experienced several roster rebuilds throughout his career. He is also coming off another disappointing TI campaign after Xtreme failed to reach the main event playoffs.

Some community users have suggested that Ame could leave or that XG might rebuild around younger talent. Others believe the organization should retain him and rebuild the roster around its legendary carry.
There is currently no reliable report confirming an Ame transfer.
Rumor status: Speculation
Ame's name will almost certainly appear in post-TI discussions, but a transfer has not been confirmed.
LGD Gaming: Topson experiment raises questions
LGD Gaming provide a completely different situation.
The Chinese organization made an emergency change shortly before TI15 after its young midlaner TaiLung received a lifetime ban from TI and PGL events following a competitive-integrity investigation. LGD then brought in two-time TI champion Topson.

Topson's arrival was one of the biggest late roster moves of the season.
LGD ultimately failed to reach the TI15 playoffs, meaning the organization will now have to decide whether the short-term solution can become a long-term project.
Community discussions have already questioned whether Topson will remain with the team, whether LGD will rebuild around him or whether the organization will return to a Chinese midlaner.
There is no official confirmation of LGD's post-TI plans yet.
Rumor status: Speculation
Topson's future with LGD is one of the most interesting questions heading into the shuffle, but there is currently no confirmed move.
Chinese Dota could see a major reshuffle
China may be the region most likely to experience widespread roster changes.
The disappointing TI15 campaign has already triggered discussion about the state of the region. All Chinese teams were eliminated before the playoffs, a result that has led to significant debate within the community about the future of Chinese professional Dota.
There is already speculation that Chinese organizations could attempt to create new combinations around established stars.
Players such as Ame, Xxs, XinQ, XM, Shiro and others could become important pieces if teams decide to rebuild.
However, China's transfer market is notoriously difficult to predict. Player relationships, organizations, regional contracts and the limited number of financially stable organizations can all influence where players end up.
Rumor status: High potential, low confirmation
A major Chinese reshuffle looks plausible, but specific lineups remain impossible to call with confidence.
Aurora Gaming and the rest of Europe
Aurora Gaming have also appeared in community discussions surrounding potential changes.
The team's international roster has shown flashes of strong form but has struggled to consistently compete with the very best teams. As a result, fans have started discussing possible adjustments, particularly around the team's core positions.
The same applies to Team Yandex, BetBoom Team, OG and GamerLegion.
Several of these teams could make changes depending on their TI15 results, but there are currently no sufficiently reliable reports to call specific transfers.
For that reason, it would be irresponsible to present fan-created lineups as genuine leaks.
What about retirements?
Retirements could become just as important as transfers this year.
The professional Dota scene contains a large number of veterans who have spent many years travelling constantly and playing an extremely demanding competitive schedule.
Insania's retirement in 2025 demonstrated that age alone is not necessarily the deciding factor. After winning The International, he explained that family and life outside esports had become more important to him. Team Liquid subsequently confirmed his retirement from professional play.
SumaiL's recent comments show that similar considerations can affect even players who remain capable of competing at the highest level.
The post-TI15 shuffle could therefore be defined not only by who changes teams, but also by who decides they have had enough.
The most interesting possible moves
Based on the information currently available, these are the storylines worth monitoring:
Player / Team | Potential development | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
SumaiL | Possible retirement or break | Medium |
Nisha | Possible break / Liquid change | Low |
Collapse | Possible break or retirement | Low |
Ame | Possible XG rebuild / transfer | Low |
Xxs | Possible XG rebuild | Low |
Topson | Future with LGD uncertain | Medium-low |
Falcons | Potential roster changes | Medium-low |
Malr1ne | Possible target for other European teams | Low |
Chinese teams | Major regional reshuffle | Medium |
These confidence levels describe the quality of available evidence, not the probability that a move will actually happen.
Our Take: The rumor mill is only getting started
The biggest mistake in post-TI coverage is treating every community prediction as an insider leak.
Right now, there are plenty of theories — but comparatively few confirmed pieces of information.
The strongest signals are coming from players themselves. SumaiL has discussed retirement, while the broader community is increasingly questioning the future of several veteran-heavy rosters.
China could also be the region to watch most closely after its unprecedentedly poor TI15 playoff representation.
The biggest European organizations, meanwhile, have more options than ever. If even one major player such as Malr1ne, Nisha or Ame becomes available, the domino effect could be enormous.
And that is what makes the post-TI period so exciting.
One player leaving a team can trigger another transfer, which creates another vacancy, which can lead to an entirely new lineup. Within a few weeks, a roster that looked impossible to break apart during The International can suddenly disappear.
For now, however, no major post-TI15 shuffle has been officially confirmed.
The International 2026 is still being played, and teams have every reason to keep their plans private until the tournament is finished.
What we can say with confidence is that the rumor mill is already active — and if even a fraction of the current speculation turns out to be accurate, the Dota 2 offseason could be extremely busy.
TI15 may decide this year's world champion, but once the Aegis is lifted, another battle will begin: the race to build the next generation of Dota 2 superteams.
