Virtus.pro has officially announced the disbandment of its Dota 2 roster following a disappointing 2026 season. The organization shared the news on its social media channels, confirming that while the current lineup has been released, the club has no plans to leave the Dota 2 scene.

According to the organization, the team's results fell well short of internal expectations despite months of work and preparation.

"Throughout the season, the team worked hard to improve and compete for top finishes. However, the final results did not meet the goals or expectations of the organization. We appreciate the professionalism and dedication shown by every player and coach during their time with Virtus.pro and wish them success in their future careers."

Virtus.pro also confirmed that work on a new roster is already underway, with the organization's long-term goal remaining unchanged: competing for championships at the highest level.

A Season That Never Came Together

The decision follows one of the most difficult years in Virtus.pro's recent Dota 2 history.

The roster failed to win a single tournament in 2026 and struggled to make deep playoff runs at premier events. Their best finishes included:

  • 12th-14th at PGL Wallachia Season 8

  • 13th-16th at the Esports World Cup 2026

The biggest disappointment came during The International 2026 qualifiers, where Virtus.pro failed to secure a spot at Dota 2's most prestigious tournament.
